We have sent this tribute to the dog papers

On behalf of Otley Canine Society I would like to pay tribute to our retired Treasurer (of over 30 years) Pat Gill who sadly passed away at home on Wednesday 3 September.

Pat enjoyed her involvement in all aspects of the dog world.  She worked tirelessly for our society, always on hand to help and advise, her immense knowledge of show organisation was appreciated by us all.  Pat loved people, she liked nothing better than to chat and laugh, her laughter was infectious, people of all ages enjoyed being in her company.

Pat was a brave lady who dealt with her illness with dignity and courage.  One of her aims was to be at Leeds Championship Show, which she achieved on all three days, enjoying sharing time and laughter with her friends.  She watched all the groups and was able to present the trophy to the gundog group winner.  She was a gracious lady who throughout her illness remained cheerful and was determined to live life to the full, enjoying trips out with family and friends always grateful for times shared. She continued to be interested in the dog world, always wanting to hear the latest show news.

I am sure there will be detailed contributions from Leeds Canine Association and Three Ridings Labrador Club, but for us at Otley we have lost our greatest treasure.

Patís family was of utmost importance to her.  Our deepest sympathy goes to Eric, Phillip, Janet and her husband Mark, all her grandchildren and great grandchildren, all of whom she was very proud, and her extended family.
